Since 2014, BDP Inc. has successfully created tuition-free dance workshops for university students, community centres, and local dance studios in Barbados. Our junior programme caters for a select group of 9 – 14-year-olds, while the senior group comprises national talent from ages 15- 25.
For 2021 the association with the NCF continues to assist our effort with access to their studios, and a grant from NCFs Cultural Industries Development Fund to secure broadcasting and streaming this year. Funds are needed to complete our arrangement with the compliment of local and virtually invited dance professionals for this year.
At the intensive participants will continue to learn various dance techniques, including African, ballet, Caribbean contemporary/modern and improvisation, learning choreography that will culminate in an online show to further inspire the growing arts community on the island.
With your contribution, we can cover the balance of costs tutors’ salaries and technical equipment in line with last year’s access to teaching and training is needed to execute this the second Hybrid Edition of BDP, August 3 -14, 2021.
2010 was a Godsend, our new Artistic team designed an exceptional Hybrid edition in association with the NCF. Here, tutors from overseas virtually joined local dance professionals to offer classes to a select group in studio. These classes were broadcast worldwide compliments the NCF on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube platforms.
